Cub Scout Pack 63 Summer 2008 EventsSaturday August 2nd – One Day Camp, Woodman Center in Richland Center This is a one day version of the three day camp curriculum. If you have any questions regarding this camp, contact Doug. Remember that you also have the option of camping overnight for an extra $10/person. Sunday evening, August 3rd – Mallards Game in Madison This date is “Scout Night” at the Madison Mallards game. Come watch a few innings or the whole game. The night will include on-the-field Scout activities both before and during the game along with the normal Mallards game fun. All kids receive a free hot dog, chips, and soda. If you haven’t had your picture with Maynard or Millie recently, make sure to bring your camera. Scouts please wear your gold “class B” uniforms.
We have a block of 40 tickets. Scout tickets are paid for by the Pack. All other friends and family receive $4.00 (special Scout Night price) tickets. Call 795-0001 or e-mail presny@centurytel.net to purchase tickets. We will sell them first come-first served so contact us right away to ensure there will be seats available for you. There may be other seats available after the initial block of tickets are sold, but they will not be in the same area. Sunday, August 10th, Field Days – Morning Cleanup Help and Parade Participation The Field Days organizers are looking for help to clean up the park Sunday morning in preparation for Sunday’s activities. This is simply a community service activity. Without the many volunteers that help with these events, they would not happen.
Later this morning, the Scouts will participate in Black Earth’s Field Days Parade. In this Olympic year, we are planning the theme “Going for the Gold”. Adults walking with the boys will hand out flyers telling families about local Scouting. We always welcome your themed ideas to positively promote Scouting while allowing the boys to have fun along the 20 minute parade route.
Other important dates: Sep 2nd (Tuesday) 1st Day of School Sep 7th (Sunday) Mazomanie Wild West Parade Participation Sep 15th (Monday) Cub Scout Kickoff Night at St. Barnabas Church, Mazomanie Coming Soon – ScoutTrack This year, our Pack will join the many other Cub Scout Packs using “ScoutTrack”. ScoutTrack is a password protected Internet website to communicate progress on achievements along with a Pack calendar and contact information. Parents signoff on achievements right on the website. Families that have used this system tell us that it makes the process of tracking achievements much easier. They also like being able to have access to an Internet based calendar if they are away from their latest edition of the Pack’s newsletter. |
